Roddenberry - The Art Journey

My studio after grad school. At least I see a box of Swiffers for dusting.

Keep working...

My studio looks like my grandmother's attic. I've taken time away for my master's in creative writing, but all along I kept working on the gathering of materials for creating visual art, hence the studio clutter. I've now finished the grad work and I've started a graphic novel, which is still in process. My hands itch to paint daily, again. Big paintings, small paintings, my soul is hungry to paint.

Life's balance needs the quiet times and I believe it also needs the occasional chaos. How else do we continue to define our path of creation? We pick our way through experience, objects, and paths and begin, yet again, the next painting. There is always a next painting. Keep working.

I'd like to hear about your art journeys. Do you collect, create, invent, paint? How does your garden grow? How do you keep working? Where do you find your inspirations?

Best,

Carol

I think everyone's creative space is in a state of chaos. My house is mostly neat...except for my two creative areas: my kitchen and my home office. When I clean my kitchen...it seems I can't stand it and have to create something in there again. My home office gets its cleanup each summer at the end of the school year.
